LASER Photonics China 2025: A new chapter of optoelectronic technology innovation and global cooperation

From March 11 to 13, 2025, the most influential event in Asia's optoelectronics industry, LASER Photonics China, will be held in Shanghai New International Expo Center. As the flagship exhibition in China's laser, optics and optoelectronics fields, this year's LASER Photonics China, with the theme of "Innovation-driven, Integrated and Coexisting", attracted 104 exhibitors and more than 1,400 professional visitors from more than 40 countries around the world. The exhibition area reached 80,011 square meters, fully demonstrating the cutting-edge breakthroughs and industry applications of optoelectronics technology.

Focusing on cutting-edge technologies, covering the entire industry chain
The exhibition content covers six core sectors: lasers and optoelectronics, optical manufacturing, imaging detection, optical communications, and biomedical photonics, focusing on the innovative achievements in the fields of laser processing systems, optical components, sensors, and optical communication equipment. For example, new light source technologies such as fiber lasers and semiconductor lasers, as well as precision optical detection equipment for industrial automation and medical fields, have become the focus of exhibitors' competition for display. In addition, the exhibition has set up special areas for biomedical photonics and integrated photonics, which focus on displaying medical technology breakthroughs such as spectral analysis and laser treatment equipment, as well as integrated solutions such as photonic chips and optical waveguide devices, to promote the deep integration of optoelectronic technology with life sciences and information technology.

Internationalization reaches a new high
This exhibition brings together industry leaders from Germany, the United States, Japan, Switzerland and other countries, including international giants such as TRUMPF, Zeiss, and Han's Laser, as well as innovative forces such as Raycus Laser and Fujing Technology in China. The proportion of international exhibitors exceeds 60%, which fully demonstrates the global appeal of the Chinese market36. At the same time, the exhibition is linked with the **Munich International Photonics Fair (LASER World of PHOTONICS), which will be held in Germany in June 2025 and is expected to attract more than 1,300 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors, further strengthening the technical cooperation and market interconnection between the Sino-European optoelectronic industry.

Academic and industrial collaboration to empower future development
The exhibition will also host an optical technology conference and more than 20 special seminars, covering cutting-edge topics such as ultrafast lasers, quantum optics, and intelligent sensing. Nobel Prize winners, representatives of the world's top scientific research institutions, and corporate technology leaders will share their latest research results on the same stage, such as the application of lasers in the manufacture of new energy batteries and the industrialization path of optical AI chips.37 In addition, for small and medium-sized enterprises, the exhibition will launch a "business matching service" to accelerate the transformation of scientific research results by accurately matching technical needs with supply chain resources.

Conclusion
The 2025 Munich Shanghai Optical Expo is not only a window for technology display, but also a strategic platform for the global optoelectronics industry to seek common development. With China's "14th Five-Year Plan" continuing to invest in high-end manufacturing and digital economy, optoelectronic technology will release greater potential in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, medical health, green energy, etc. This event has undoubtedly injected new momentum into the industry and opened up a broader space for global cooperation.
